Welcome to the Dublin Concert Band website. 2008 is a special year for us - we are celebrating 50 years of the band. The main event for us is a major concert in the National Concert Hall (NCH) on October 9, 2008. We are currently working on the programme for this concert with our musical directors.

Apart from our regular summer concerts in various Dublin parks and other venues, we are also working on a Mid-summer Concert, date and venue to be confirmed. Our immediate focus is the National Band Championships, being held in Limerick this year. Section I Concert, is in the UCH at 12:30 Sunday 29th March.

Located in Dublin Ireland, the Dublin Concert Band provides an opportunity for people of all ages to play and enjoy a wide variety of music for both their own and public enjoyment. DCB is unique amongst its peers in that it brings together a complete cross section of musical talent, youth and experience, enthusiasm and maturity where everybody is welcome.

DCB have been the winners of the Section 1 Concert section of the IABCB National Championships from 2002 - 2007. This year DCB was just pipped at the post by Rathfarnham Concert Band having tied on 134 points. As Rathfarnham scored 88 in the test piece, Midnight in Buenos Aires by Adam Gorb, Rathfarnham won the trophy. DCB won the best choice piece having scored 48 out of 50.
